Focus timer

One thing at a time, on a ring

Pick what you are working on, from the event that is running or your tasks, set how long, and the TimeLoop ring runs down while the steps sit beside it. In the browser now, on iPhone with the next update.

How it works

Three steps.

  1. 1
    Pick the thing

The event that is on now, a task from your list, or a free focus with no task at all.

  2. 2
    Set the length

Turn the dial from 5 to 120 minutes, or leave it open-ended. The ring runs down as the time does.

  3. 3
    Tick it off

Tick the steps as you go. Done ticks the task or the event in your plan; Skip leaves it waiting.

What it does for you.

A visual countdown

The ring shows how much is left at a glance, with the minutes and when it ends. +1 min and pause are one tap away.

Steps beside the timer

A task’s checklist and notes stay next to the ring, so the next step is always in view.

Starts from your plan

No separate list to keep: the timer knows what is on now and what is waiting on your tasks.

One thing, not intervals

There are no Pomodoro work and break cycles and no streaks: one focus, for as long as you chose.

Where it runs

Focus is in TimeLoop in the browser today, from Focus in the sidebar or the focus chip on an event. On iPhone it comes with the next update, together with Focus on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, where pause, +5 min and Done work without opening the app, and Home Screen widgets for the running focus and for starting one.

What it costs

Focus is free. Planning your day from a sentence, the measured way to each place and the other things that do the work for you are part of TimeLoop Pro.

What it is not

It is not a Pomodoro timer: it does not cut work into 25-minute intervals with breaks, and it keeps no streaks or statistics. It does not block websites or play sounds while you work.

Questions

Asked before you asked.

Is there a free focus timer?

Yes. TimeLoop’s focus timer is free, in the browser now and on iPhone with the next update.

Is it a Pomodoro timer?

No. You set one length, from 5 to 120 minutes or open-ended, and the ring runs down once. There are no work and break cycles.

Can I see the timer on my Lock Screen?

On iPhone, with the next update: the running focus sits on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with pause, +5 min and Done.

Does it work for a task without a time?

Yes. Pick it from your tasks, focus on it, and Done ticks it off.
