“Add to TimeLoop”: plan without opening the app

The moment you remember something is rarely the moment you have the app open. On iPhone, say it to Siri or run a shortcut, and it is in your plan.

How it works

Three steps.

  1. 1

    Say “Add to TimeLoop”

To Siri, or pick it in Spotlight or in the Shortcuts app. It is there once TimeLoop has been opened once.

  2. 2

    Say what to add

You are asked “What do you want to add?”. Answer in one sentence.

  3. 3

    Hear what happened

TimeLoop answers in one short sentence. The app does not open.

✕Add manually

In detail

What it does for you.

Three ways to say it

“Add to TimeLoop”, “New in TimeLoop” and “Add something to TimeLoop” all work.

Planned, with Pro

With TimeLoop Pro the sentence is read like one typed in the app: an event with its time, a task without one. Without Pro it becomes one task.

On the Action Button

It is an App Shortcut, so it can go on the Action Button of an iPhone that has one, or into a shortcut of your own.

Never added twice

If the same request reaches the server twice, the second is answered with what the first did.

What happens with the sentence

It is sent to TimeLoop’s server, which adds it and answers with one sentence. With Pro, “dentist Friday at ten and call the plumber” becomes an event and a task. Without Pro the whole sentence becomes one task, for you to give a time later.

Where something needs a decision, such as an appointment with a day but no hour, nothing is added. TimeLoop says so and leaves it for you to finish in the app.

What it needs

An iPhone, and TimeLoop opened once, so that it knows whose plan to add to. No account is needed. The phone has to be unlocked: asked from a locked phone, it has you unlock first.

What it does not do

It adds. It does not read your plan back, move things or answer questions; those are done in the app. And it is an iPhone feature: there is nothing like it on Android.

Free or Pro

The shortcut itself is free. What becomes of your sentence follows your plan: planned with TimeLoop Pro, one task without.

Questions

Asked before you asked.

Can Siri add things to TimeLoop?

On iPhone, yes. Say “Add to TimeLoop”, then what to add. The app does not open.

What do I say?

“Add to TimeLoop”, “New in TimeLoop” or “Add something to TimeLoop”, and then one sentence with what you want added.

Does it work from a locked iPhone?

It has you unlock the iPhone first, because your sign-in is kept where it can only be read while the phone is unlocked.

Can I use it in my own shortcut?

Yes. “Add to TimeLoop” is an action in the Shortcuts app: it takes the text to add and gives back TimeLoop’s answer.

Does it need Pro?

No. Without Pro the sentence becomes one task. With Pro it is read and planned.

Is there something like it on Android?

No. It is an iPhone feature.

Your day, figured out.

Say what you need to do. See your life fall into place.
