Weather

The weather where you will be, when you get there

A weather app tells you about here and now. Your plan is about later and somewhere else. With TimeLoop Pro each event carries the forecast for its own place and hour.

How it works

Three steps.

  1. 1

    Give the event a place

Pick it on the map when you add the event, or type its name.

  2. 2

The forecast is matched to it

For the area around that place, at the hour the event starts. An event with no place gets the weather where you are.

  3. 3

    See it on your plan

A small sky and a temperature on the event, and the day’s weather at the top of Today.

In detail

What it does for you.

On the event itself

The temperature and the sky for the hour it starts, with the rain to expect when there is some.

The day at a glance

Today shows what it is like now; another day shows its high and low. A tap opens the hours ahead and the days after.

Goals that stay dry

A goal you do outdoors can be kept out of the hours with rain in the forecast.

Your position stays rough

The forecast is asked for an area of about ten kilometres, never for the exact spot.

Which events get a forecast

Events that are still ahead, up to about nine days out, which is as far as the forecast reaches: hour by hour for the next two days, then in six-hour steps.

An event with a place gets the weather at that place. A place you typed is looked up on the map first; if the map does not know it, the event shows no weather, not the weather somewhere else. An event read from your calendar shows a forecast only if its place came with a point on the map, because what your calendar holds is not passed on to a map service.

What it does not do

It does not put the weather into Apple Calendar or Google Calendar: the forecast is shown inside TimeLoop. It sends no rain alerts. And it is a forecast, MET Norway’s, shown with their name.

Free or Pro

The weather is part of TimeLoop Pro, together with the measured way to a place and when to leave. You can switch it off in your profile; with it off, no forecast is asked for.

Questions

Asked before you asked.

Where does the forecast come from?

From MET Norway’s open forecast service. Their name is shown with it.

Which events get a forecast?

Events still ahead, within about nine days. With a place, the forecast is for that place at that hour; without one, for where you are.

How far ahead does it go?

About nine days: hour by hour for the first two, then in six-hour steps.

Does it add the weather to my Apple or Google calendar?

No. The forecast is shown on events inside TimeLoop. Nothing about the weather is written to your calendars.

Is the weather free?

No. It is part of TimeLoop Pro.

Can I switch it off?

Yes, in your profile. With it off, no forecast is asked for.
